If you\u2019ve been dealing with a persistent algae problem that you can\u2019t seem to get rid of, there\u2019s a chance that you have high levels of Phosphates in your pool water. These pesky little fellas not only negate the effects of algaecide and shock treatment, but the phosphates become extra food for any pre-existing algae in your pool. Phosphates are notoriously difficult to completely get rid of and in some cases in pools with higher phosphate levels, require you to replace the water in your pool. So how exactly does one get rid of existing phosphates\/ prevent new ones from growing?
